A Facebook business page is not a bad idea, especially since so many businesses now (including your competitors) have a Facebook business fan page. Businesses everywhere are using Facebook for marketing and to appeal to a larger spectrum of people. More people can be reached via Facebook and it is used by many different generations, especially by the younger generation. While you may want your business to appeal to everyone, the older generation will be more likely to know about you and tap into your old fashioned marketing techniques. There are also many people in the older generation that have their own Facebook page and actively or occasionally participate on Facebook. Facebook is for all age groups and individual that has the desire to join. However, Facebook is widely used and favored by the younger generation. They are more apt to be a part of the world of technology because the younger generation seems to better understand and appreciate technology and everything that has been made available as they have grown up. Also, a lot of members of the younger generation are not as likely to view or recognize advertising if it is not very noticeable or if it uses old techniques. However, there is a much greater chance that they will come across it on Facebook.
Facebook business pages can do so much for a business and the participation and recognition that they receive. A business will be able to reach hundreds, or maybe even thousands or millions, more people just by creating a page for their business on Facebook. The more appealing it is, and the more rewarding it is to visit, the more people it will attract. Some businesses offer deals and promotions on Facebook to entice people to like their page. There are many marketing techniques used on Facebook, so it is not good for businesses to get behind by not having a Facebook.
