Give the Ones You Love Gift of Health with a Fruit Basket
We are a very sugar obsessed society. There is no question, there is a very widespread love for sweets and treats. When we are looking to give someone a gift or note to show our love, condolences, sympathy, gratitude, or support we oftentimes attach a treat or sweet thing as well. Part of the reasoning behind this may be because there is such a positive association with sugar. Treats, candy, pastries, and goodies are almost always associated with good memories in our minds. Birthday parties, celebrations, childhood rewards, and trips to the candy store can all be connected to feelings of excitement and happiness.
Unfortunately, sugar isn’t necessarily the best thing for our health. Because of these positive food associations many of us overeat sweet foods that are high in fat and unhealthy when we are seeking some feel-good vibes in our lives. This process can lead to weight gain, and can become very unhealthy. The fact that we like sweet things will more than likely not change anytime soon. But, we don’t always have to give sweets that are loaded with fat, sugar and empty calories. Instead of giving a sweet gift that is unhealthy, give a gift that is naturally sweet, healthy, and extremely delicious. A fruit basket is the perfect way to satisfy a sweet craving in a way that won’t ruin your diet. Some question the difference between the sugar in sweets and the sugar in fruit. It is true that they both contain sugar, but the sugar in sweets is often highly processed.
It is usually always paired with high fat ingredients that make the sugar an accomplice to many other unhealthy items. Fruits have a natural source of sugar that is not processed in any way. Fruit is also full of other vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that are very beneficial to our health. Fresh, perfectly ripe pieces of fruit are a great way to fulfill that craving for something sweet with no guilt at all. There is nothing better than biting into a delicious, juicy pear, or indulging in a crisp, flavorful apple. Not only is a fruit basket a far healthier option when it comes to sweet things, but it also comes with a very pretty presentation. A fruit basket full of different pieces of fresh and delicious fruit arranged in a basket with beautiful packaging will have a very pretty presentation, and will look very delectable.
Some may feel as if their gift is second best if it isn’t dipped in chocolate or doused in butter, but the truth is many people will appreciate the healthy option. We tend to eat what is in front of us. If a container of cupcakes is set before us, we’ll be more than likely to partake. The same things goes for a fruit basket. If ripe, delicious, beautiful fruit is placed before you it will look incredibly enticing, and there is not question that it will get gobbled up. So, what is the difference between the cupcakes and the fruit basket in this scenario? Both will taste absolutely divine going down, but there will not be the same feelings after the fact.
The cupcakes may leave those who partake of them feeling regretful, guilty, and full of remorse for what they’ve just eaten. The fruit on the other hand, will taste every bit as good on the tongue, and will leave those who eat it feeling like they have made a great choice. Eating fresh produce gives an association of health, and not guilt. Instead of giving the usual treat overload with your gifting this year, give the gift of health. By giving delicious fruit baskets you will be giving those people you love something they can feel good about, and it will taste good too!
